ABPM (Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring) is a 24-hour test that tracks your blood pressure continuously as you go about your normal daily activities — including while you sleep. A small, lightweight monitor is worn around your arm, connected to a compact recording device, taking automatic readings at regular intervals throughout the day and night.
Unlike a single blood pressure reading taken at a clinic, which can be affected by factors like stress or "white coat syndrome," ABPM gives your doctor a far more accurate and complete picture of how your blood pressure behaves in real, everyday conditions. It's commonly used to confirm a diagnosis of hypertension, evaluate how well your current treatment is working, or investigate symptoms like dizziness or headaches.
No special preparation is required. We recommend wearing a loose-fitting shirt on the day of the test, as the cuff will be placed on your upper arm. You can continue your normal daily routine during the 24-hour period, though we'll guide you to keep your arm still and relaxed for a few seconds each time the cuff inflates to take a reading.
Our technician will fit the device at your home and explain how it works before you begin. Once the 24-hour period is complete, the device is collected and your readings are carefully analyzed. Your report is prepared and shared with accurate findings for your doctor's review.
