A Holter ECG monitor is a small, portable device that continuously records your heart's electrical activity for 24 or 48 hours while you go about your normal daily routine. Unlike a standard ECG, which only captures a few seconds of heart activity, Holter monitoring gives your doctor a complete picture of your heart's rhythm over an extended period — making it especially useful for detecting irregular heartbeats, palpitations, or symptoms that come and go.
No special preparation is required. We recommend wearing a loose, comfortable shirt on the day of the test, as electrodes will be placed directly on your chest, and avoiding oils or lotions on the chest area beforehand. Our technician will attach the electrodes and fit you with a lightweight recorder worn under your clothing, and you'll note any symptoms in a simple diary during the monitoring period.
Once monitoring is complete, our technician removes the device and the recorded data is carefully analyzed. Your report is prepared and shared with accurate findings for your doctor's review — with home service available across Chennai.
